Motor controllers are devices that regulate the operation of an electric motor. The controller acts as intermediary between the power supply and motor(s). Our controllers have 3 separate modules (Communication control, Motion Control, and Motor Control) integrated into one simple easy-to-use and powerful unit.

Motors require high amount of current whereas the controller circuit works on low current signals. The function of motor control is to take a low-current control signal and then turn it into a higher-current signal that can drive a motor. While brushless motors are mechanically relatively simple, they do require sophisticated control electronics and regulated power supplies.


SDP/SI offers a large selection of brushless and brushed motors controllers with options for communication, motion control features, single to multiple control channels, IP rating, and power range from 1.8 to 24 Kilowatts.

Interface with any device

From simple push buttons, to Joysticks, Radios, PLCs, or Computers, Roboteq can interface with it. A generous number of Pulse/Analog/Digital Inputs are available for limit switches, potentiometers, encoders, buttons or sensors. Digital Outputs provide for braking, lights, or solenoids. Need more IO? Use our RIOX IO eXtender via CANbus and know no limits!

Roboteq’s controllers are capable of the more refined and quieter running 512-step Sinusoidal rotation. The motor is always operating at optimal efficiency do to advanced Field-Oriented Control (FOC).
Sensor Waves

Knowing the real-time position of the Rotor is absolutely necessary for making smooth turns efficiently. We support nearly all known rotor sensor types; even sensorless operation!

MicroBasic Scripting
One of Roboteq's controller's most powerful and innovative features is the ability for the user to write programs that are permanently saved into, and run from the controller’s Flash Memory. This capability is the equivalent of combining the motor controller functionality and this of a PLC or Single Board Computer directly into the controller.


CANbus Interface


All controllers have a 1Mbit CANbus interface. Using a simple wire pair, you can make two or more controllers work together, connect to joysticks, PLCs, Battery Management Systems, or any other smart sensor. And with four different CAN protocols, they will be able to understand each other.
