What made you decide to pursue a career in manufacturing?

Luck, is all I can say. Needed a job and a local company was looking for a receptionist, I learned all I could and loved service.

What does your job entail?

Entering and following up on sales orders, but I think building a relationship with both the customer and our team is really my job.

What is the most interesting part of your job? Your proudest moment?

Making a frustrated customer happy at the end of the call. On my first week, I helped a customer get an order shipped, only to find out he had given us the wrong address and it was too late to stop the shipment. He called the next day to say thank you for my effort.

What do you love about manufacturing?

Specifically, that our products are Made in the USA and that it’s a tangible process that backs up an idea and imagination starts it all.

What advice would you give to kids considering a job in manufacturing?

There’s so many facets to our industry, so check them all out and find out what fits for you.

What advice would you give to manufacturers to help increase kids' interest in manufacturing as a career choice?

Think out of the box a bit, not everyone has to be locked to a desk. I realize that actual factory work is grounded, but I have been working offsite and it’s been wonderful.
