The gradual U.S. conversion to metric has been simplified with the introduction of an expanded series of 99 precision ground off-the-shelf metric shafts designed for instrument and light machinery applications.

The shafts are offered in a total of 9 precut lengths which range from 25 mm to 500 mm (I” to 20"), and in 11 diameters from 2 mm to 12 mm (.0787" to .4724"). #303 Stainless Steel is used for the precision shafts, identified as the A 7X 1M series. They feature a finish of 0.25 mm (10 min.) and a straightness factor of 0.0003 mm/mm (.0003 in./in.).
