An expanded series of sleeves with square holes is available in two styles from Stock Drive Products. The sleeves have multiple uses in machine shops where they are employed as collars to hold tool bits in lathes or drill presses. They are also used for joining two square rods together, holding the rods by set screws or by welding. One style of the square hole sleeves, designated as The square holes in the sleeves range from .128 in. to 1.260 in. across flats, designed to hold tool-bit sizes from 1/8-in. to 1-1/4 in. square. Outer diameters of the sleeves range from .2187 in. to 2.000 in., with tolerances held to .0005 in. Material is cold-rolled steel 1117, hardened when requested. Concentricity is 0.003-in.
