A new ultraminiature inch and metric .1475" Pitch (3.7465 mm pitch) molded roller chain drive from Stock Drive Products is designed for use where limited space and weight factors are important: such as in stylus or pen assemblies in recorders and X-Y plotters, chart roll drives and counter drives. It is used extensively in severe environment and food processing applications where its noncorrosive, solvent-resistant and nonmagnetic properties are far superior to conventional metallic chain drives.

Molded from Nylatron GS, this drive, identified as Catalog No. A 6M 7-MT is lightweight, nonconductive, self-lubricating and operates with a very low noise level. The chain features a unit-link design that eliminates the need for a master link or special tools for assembly. It compares extremely favorably to and can directly replace .1475" pitch Stainless Steel roller chain drives at a substantial cost savings. Each link simply snaps into the next one to form any desired length. The chain measures .191" wide and .108" high. A length of 82 links snapped together will equal 1 foot and a length of 10.75 feet of chain weighs only 1 oz. chain operating speeds of up to 800 feet per minute, around smaller 8-tooth sprockets and maximum operating loads of up to 2 pounds of tension are recommended. The chain is 100% inspected for a minimum momentary break strength of 5 pounds. The A 6M7-14 series Nylatron GS sprockets for this chain are stocked in 34 different sizes ranging in size from 7 to 52 teeth. Four bore sizes are offered ranging from .093" to .250". Outer diameters range from .392" to 2.495" and pitch diameters from .340" to 2.443". Sprockets molded from Acetal are also available. List prices for the chain is just $21.68 per foot and sprocket prices range between $2.35 and $3.14 for the smallest and largest sizes.
