An expanded Series of 1/5" and 40 diametral pitch SUPER-PLAST® molded synchronous drive pulleys from Stock Drive Products are reinforced with metal inserts to offer the lightweight advantages of plastic along with the metal-to-metal fastening advantages of metal construction. The metal insert, within the thick wall molded plastic hub, provides additional torsional strength and accommodates a set screw which is provided as standard on all pulleys. All hubs are provided with spot drilled holes for pinning the pulleys to the shaft. Use of lightweight plastic for the pulleys in combination with the metal insert yields high strength-to-weight ratio and low inertia. All pulleys are available with single or double flange. The insert bores are in inch sizes 3/16", 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 1/2" and in metric sizes 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12 mm.

The 1/5" pitch pulleys, for 3/8" belts, identified as the A 6Z 3 Series, total 36 sizes, from 10 teeth to 72 teeth. The pulleys are made of polycarbonate with fiberglass reinforcement and the inserts are aluminum alloy. The tooth profile conforms to RMA and MPTA Standards for "XL" belts. The 40 D.P. pulleys, for 1/4" belts, identified as the A 6Z 6 (Inch) (Metric) series, total 26 sizes, from 34 teeth to 120 teeth. They are molded of acetal resin and the inserts are brass. The tooth profile conforms to belts made of polyurethane or neoprene. These 62 different pulleys enable the designers to choose from more than 1,000 different transmission ratios. A computerized transmission ratio table is supplied with the detailed dimensional and technical data. Each pulley is made available for immediate delivery from stock with several bore sizes, inch or metric, providing a great deal of flexibility. The relatively low cost of a mass-produced plastic pulley reinforced with the metal insert constitutes a logical replacement for all-metal higher priced machined pulleys.
